These Terms of Use govern access to and use of orientatio.portussophia.com and its associated public repository (together, the Site).
The Site is operated by PortusSophia, LLC, a Maryland limited liability company. PortusSophia™ names a candidate field architecture presented through the Site; it is not the legal entity operating the Site.
By accessing or using the Site, you acknowledge these Terms. No account, payment, or click-through acceptance is presently required.
1. Purpose of the Site
The Site provides a public, versioned source surface for orientation to PS-BIOS-001, PortusSophia™ canon, governance materials, and related records according to their declared standing.
The Site supports reading, citation, source review, and bounded use of public materials with AI language models. It does not itself provide certification, adjudication, professional services, or institutional authorization.
2. Declared standing of materials
Publication or availability through the Site does not alter a document’s declared status, version, provenance, authority, or relationship to other materials.
A document identified as canonical, governance, draft, preliminary, archival, superseded, or otherwise qualified retains that standing. Access does not collapse those distinctions.
Where a file, publication, archival deposit, or linked resource states separate or more specific terms, those terms govern that material to the extent applicable.
3. Orientation does not confer authority
Access to the Site, use of its suggested prompt, or machine reading of its materials does not confer:
- PortusSophia™ authority;
- stewardship or governance standing;
- canonical standing;
- institutional representation;
- endorsement or agreement;
- certification;
- or adjudicative power.
An AI system that reads the Site does not thereby become an authorized PortusSophia system, steward, representative, or adjudicator.
PortusSophia shall not derive authority from itself.
4. Rights, permissions, and intellectual property
Use of Site materials is governed by the applicable Rights and Use statement and Limited Public Permissions, which are incorporated into these Terms by reference.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, all original Site content, names, marks, designs, canonical materials, governance materials, and related works are owned by PortusSophia, LLC or used with permission. No implied license is granted.
PortusSophia™ is a claimed trademark of PortusSophia, LLC. Use of a name or mark must not imply endorsement, certification, affiliation, stewardship, or authority.
5. Permitted public use
Subject to the applicable rights and license statements, visitors may:
- browse and read public pages;
- link to public pages and records;
- cite materials with appropriate attribution;
- quote brief excerpts where permitted by law and the governing terms of the cited work; and
- provide the public Site URL or public materials to an AI language model for transient, bounded source review or orientation.
These permissions do not authorize substantial republication, commercial exploitation, persistent incorporation into a model or dataset, removal of standing or provenance notices, or presentation of an AI-generated account as an authorized PortusSophia determination.
6. Acceptable use
You must not use the Site to:
- interfere with its availability, integrity, security, or operation;
- attempt unauthorized access to systems, repositories, accounts, or infrastructure;
- misrepresent the source, standing, authorship, provenance, or authority of Site materials;
- impersonate PortusSophia, LLC, James Roy Dennis, a PortusSophia steward, or an authorized representative;
- use PortusSophia names or marks to imply an affiliation or endorsement that has not been granted; or
- violate applicable law or the rights of another person or organization.
7. AI-generated output
The Site may be supplied to general-purpose AI systems. Those systems are independent services whose outputs may be incomplete, inaccurate, unavailable, or inconsistent with the source materials.
PortusSophia, LLC does not control or endorse an AI system merely because it can access the Site. Visitors remain responsible for checking which sources were actually accessed and for distinguishing source text from machine inference.
8. No professional advice
The Site is provided for public orientation, research, and informational purposes. It does not provide legal, medical, financial, engineering, scientific, academic, diagnostic, or other professional advice or certification.
Nothing on the Site creates a fiduciary, advisory, employment, agency, partnership, stewardship, or professional-client relationship.
9. External services and links
The Site may link to third-party services, repositories, archival deposits, publications, or websites. Those resources are governed by their own terms, privacy practices, availability, and declared standing.
A link does not by itself constitute endorsement, incorporation, or responsibility for third-party content.
10. Availability and changes
The Site is provided on an as available basis. PortusSophia, LLC may correct, revise, relocate, suspend, or remove Site content, subject to applicable provenance and governance practices.
No guarantee is made that the Site, a linked source, or machine access to either will remain uninterrupted, complete, current, or compatible with a particular system.
11. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Site and its content are provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, non-infringement, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability.
Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, PortusSophia, LLC and its members, officers, agents, contributors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from access to, reliance upon, inability to access, or use of the Site or linked resources.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability where limitation is prohibited by law.
13. Privacy
Use of the Site is also subject to the Privacy Notice.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
15. Changes to these Terms
These Terms may be revised as the Site develops. The effective date and version at the top of this page identify the current public version. Material changes should be made through versioned repository history.
Continued use after revised Terms are published constitutes acknowledgment of the revised Terms to the extent permitted by law.
16. Severability and no waiver
If a provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect to the extent permitted by law.
Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of that provision or any other right.
